Hi guys!

Welcome to my first blog!

So my name is Emma, i love making things, all kinds of things, from top hats and dice to pillows and cards, at the moment i am interested in the built up mixed media ‘finnabair’ look and am planning on doing alot of projects with the style. I am also a big fan of steampunk and am working out the plot for a steampunk inspired book i really hope to finish writing, so you will see a bit of gears, clocks and possible octopus in my work, (maby an octopus hat).

I started my art journey by choosing art as an elective in school, at that time i was hopeless and struggled to draw stick figures, but i really enjoyed it and practiced drawing everything, by the end of the year i was drawing portraits and painting pictures that were donated to decorate offices of small local charities. I have come to realise that being artistic and letting my creativity out is the best stress relieving tool i own and as someone who bottles up their emotions it is a tool that is invaluable.

i have a little boy called alex who is 2yrs, and two little sisters. The youngest Jazmin loves to help me, she is an aspiring scrapbooker and is pressuring me to start selling at markets because she loves going to the markets, I love markets too, but it will require a bit of work to get my products market ready (packaging and labelling). I am thinking about selling some things on ebay or etsy and will keep you guys posted.

So in my next few posts i will be talking about some products i have, buying products on a budget, and a mixed media project i did recently so let me know what you want to read about and I’ll do my best to make a post about it. If you guys have any questions i will try to answer them.
I am aiming to post weekly so keep an eye out!

I am really excited about blogging and the chance to meet and talk to all of you wonderful and interesting people. I am hoping to learn as much from you as you do from me.
Thanks for reading,
Emma.
